The artist book ECHTZEIT was created in close collaboration with Dirk Braeckman, in conjunction with his solo show at FOMU. ‘ECHTZEIT’ refers to Braeckman’s exploration of the intersection of the past and present. Simultaneously and in real-time, three perspectives converge: those of the original photographer, Braeckman himself, and us, the viewers. The book offers a unique glimpse into Dirk Braeckman’s most recent photographs, accompanied by selections from the museum’s collection and texts written by Clément Chéroux, director of the Foundation Henri Cartier-Bresson, and Tamara Berghmans, curator at FOMU. The book’s design mirrors the structure of the exhibition, beginning with archive documents followed by 140 works by Dirk Braeckman and accompanying texts. The archives and texts are printed in two colors—silver and black—on Munken paper, while Arctic paper was chosen for the artworks. Graphic design by Reg Herygers. 4 Texts / 4 writers. Each writer approaches the oeuvre from a different angle, based on their specialty. Francis Smets frames the works as furniture art, Marc Holthof`s text is based on multiple interviews with Casimir, Virginia Tassinari writes about Casimir`s layered work from a cultural-philosophical perspective and Fredie Floré reflects in a cultural-historical way on his furniture making.
The limited edition of The Book is with bookend named `Border.` Border places The Book across the border of the book row. Border is the semiotic translation of the main content of The Book.

Om jongeren tussen 10 en 20 jaar preventiever te ondersteunen hebben we samen met TEJO en enkele andere organisaties een reizende belevingsexpo uitgewerkt. De expo WE(L) ZIJN JONG! focust op drie belangrijke thema’s: het persoonlijk welzijn van jongeren, hun rechten en waar ze hulp vinden wanneer ze het moeilijk hebben. De expo nodigt iedereen uit om op een creatieve en participatieve manier deel te nemen en te bouwen aan een beter welzijn voor álle jongeren. De belevingsexpo is nog tot 28 januari 2022 te bezoeken in het Maagdenhuis.
